Convective Drum Dryer (CTD)

The CTD dryer is a convective triple pass drum dryer using air heated in a dedicated heat generator to quickly and effectively reduce sludge volume and weight. The process is also fully automatic and can be remotely monitored and controlled.

The wet product is preliminary mixed with already dried sludge in a backmixing section and than fed into the triple pass drum dryer where it goes in contact with a stream of air heated in a dedicated heat generator.

The process is performed inside an enclosed rotating drum consisting of three coaxial cylinders; there are no rotating parts inside the drum with no wearing problems.

The dried product has a homogeneous and granular shape and is recovered in the product/process air separation section.Process air leaving the air separation section is recycled while a minimum amount is extracted in order to reduce to the air emission.
