Screw Press (SP)

The sludge is previously conditioned in a special mixer and than fed to the press for the separation of the free water in the inlet drainage area.

Inside the cage there is a screw, which rotates slowly moving forward the sludge to be dewatered; this screw is completely realised of stainless steel and is equipped with a conical shaft whose diameter increases towards the discharge so that the useful volume between the spirals of the screw and the cage progressively decreases, causing an increasing mechanical pressing of the panel to promote dewatering.

The dewatered sludge is discharged through a discharge opening which can be connected directly to a screw or to a belt conveyor.

Cyclically, a mobile annular washing system, equipped with high pressure nozzles, is operated by pneumatic cylinders to cover and clean the entire length of the cage.
